In a celebration of artistry and craftsmanship, J.M. Weston collaborates with the Paris Opera to honor the 150th anniversary of the Palais Garnier with an exquisite capsule collection.

A Historic Alliance of Excellence
French heritage shoemaker J.M. Weston has partnered with the Paris Opera to create a capsule collection that seamlessly weaves the legacy of two iconic institutions. Unveiled in an opulent reception hidden behind the Palais Garnier's stage, the collection comprises three meticulously designed show styles and two elegant envelope clutches, each echoing the splendor of the opera house.
The event's setting provided a journey through time, as guest explored the opera house's storied backstage spaces - from the fable water - filled cellar that inspired The Phantom of the Opera to the historic dance studios honoring legends such as Serge Lifar and Rudolf Nureyev. This curated experience underscored the deep connection between J.M. Weston and the Paris Opera in their shared pursuit of preserving heritage while embracing modernity.

Designs Inspired by Grandeur
Oliver Saillard, J.M. Weston's artistic, image, and culture director, infused the collection with the timeless motifs of the Palais Garnier. Drawing from its rich symbolism and ornate architecture, the designs exude a sense of grandeur and refinement, handcrafted in J.N. Weston's storied Limoges atelier.
Golden Sun Velvet Loafers: These black velvet loafers, adorned with a shimmering gold sun embroidery, pay homage to Louis XIV, the Sun King, who founded the Opera Academy in 1669.
Lyre Embroidered Slip-Ons: Offered in rich black and burgundy velvet, these elegant slip-on shoes feature a gold lyre motif, a nod to the intricate designs of architect Charles Garnier.
Asymmetric Patent Leather Brogues: A daring reinterpretation of a classic, this men's lace-up brogue in polished black patent leather features a burgundy lining and a striking brass toe cap, blending tradition with bold innovation.
Signature Clutches: Designed in plain and patent black leather, the clutches are embossed with the name and address of the Palais Garnier, offering a sophisticated complement to the footwear.
"These designs are not merely for the stage but extend their elegance to the audience, capturing the full spectrum of the opera experience", Saillard remarked.
J.M. Weston's collaboration with the Paris Opera reflects the shoemaker's ongoing dedication to elevating eveningwear and celebrating artistry. This partnership follows a series of notable collaborations, including those with Sacai, Roland-Garros, and 3.Paradis. However, the Paris Opera project stands out as a pinnacle of creative and cultural synergy.
To promote the collection, J.M. Weston enlisted Paris Opera Ballet star Pau Marque, whose presence in the campaign encapsulates the collaboration's dynamic energy and elegance. Saillard, no stranger to the world of performance, has previously worked with renowned choreographers such as Mathilde Monnier and Asha Thomas, underscoring his deep appreciation for the intersection of movement and design.
"For a shoemaker, stepping into the world of dance feels like a natural progression", Saillard.
